Entertainment

The main attraction for any Rodeo are the broncs, bulls, horses and each individual event but there is also the entertainment in-between that make us laugh out loud. We want to welcome Andy Seiler as our announcer and Kyle Lamon as our comedy Barrel Man.

ANDY SEILER
PROFESSIONAL RODEO ANNOUNCER

Andy Seiler has never met a stranger. His passion and love for the sport of rodeo combined with his broadcast
journalism degree make his career choice as a rodeo announcer a winning combination. Seiler has announced
all over the country in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and has been selected twice to
announce the National Finals Rodeo. “I have always enjoyed talking to people and discussing everything
rodeo,” Andy explains. “I just never knew that the years of roping the dummy and working to be a champion
translate later in life in trying to give contestants and fans alike that same winning feeling.”

As a student at Troy University, Seiler traveled to smaller rodeos in the Southeast competing in college rodeo
and announcing amateur rodeos until 2007. After winning the Walt Garrison Award of the National
Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA), his life as an announcer changed forever and he moved into the
PRCA. Seiler was given the opportunity to co-announce the 2008 CNFR and has since worked Rodeo Houston,
The Clark County Fair; Rodeo, the Rooftop Rodeo, and the Caldwell Night Rodeo. In 2015, Seiler also
traveled with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to announce in Madison Square Garden for the Built Ford
Tough Series Event.

Andy’s first-hand knowledge and experience will keep your crowd tuning into the action to see what exciting
development will unfold next. A former National High School Finals Champion Team Roper and a three-time
qualifier to the College National Finals Rodeo, Andy has been able to win at multiple levels and now enjoys
describing the joy of victory and the heartbreak of defeat to rodeo spectators nationwide. “I truly enjoy being a
part of an industry that embodies an American icon that is the cowboy,” Seiler says. “I grew up on a farm,
loving the honesty, toughness, and the integrity that comes with the ranching and farming way of life and
today’s contestants keep that tradition of yesterday alive.”

PROFESSIONAL COMEDY BARRELMAN

Kyle Lamon, new PRCA Comedy Barrelman, is one rodeo clown you won’t forget. Known on social media as“Hastag”, Kyle is known for traveling across the USA, clownin” it up in the arena and keeping it “cool” online. His high energy, contemporary style, and unending ability to shake, rattle, and roll makes him a stand out among his peers and takes rodeo entertainment to a new level. Kyle, 30 years old from Sevierville, TN, also keeps busy with his 5 year old son often traveling down the road with him. Kyle served our country in the U.S. Army for six years as an Army infantryman, including a nine month deployment to Afghanistan. Life after the military included riding bulls for six years. DUSTIN NELSON
PROFESSIONAL Bull Fighter

Being a rodeo bullfighter 'ain't for the faint of heart,” said Dustin Nelson, who has spent 14 years in that particular line of work, adding that 'you've got to be willing to die for a bull rider” that you may or may not know.  Nelson, from Bernard will be out in front of the chutes fighting bulls and protecting bull riders tonight when the chute gates swing at the first annual Timber City Pro Rodeo.

Nelson said a bullfighter's job is simply to get a bull's attention at the end of an eight-second or less ride so the bull rider can get safely to the fence. What he considers the easiest way to do that is where the 'faint of heart” quote comes into play.  'The easiest way,” Nelson said, 'is to get as close to the bull's head as possible so he sees you instead of the cowboy.”

To decide when to make his move, Nelson has to watch both the bull and rider carefully during the ride, which sometimes ends in a split second or so right outside the chute.

While his goal is to get the rider safely to the fence, Nelson considers the fence a place he can be thrown into and injured by a bull. Therefore, he employs a different strategy.

Dustin, well known in the Jackson County area, has been featured all across the USA as well as at  St. Tete, Quebec, the largest event in Canada, hosting over 400,000 fans in the two week Festival Western.  He is one of the top Great Lakes Circuit Bullfighters and has been selected 9 times to fight bulls at the Great Lakes Circuit Finals.  He travels with his wife, Stacey, and T, his 6 year old son Tristin.
